Publication Ethics
Ascendia: Journal of Economic and Business Advancement is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and ethical responsibility in scholarly publishing. The journal adheres to the principles and best practices recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and expects all parties involved—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—to maintain these ethical standards throughout the publication process.
1. Responsibilities of Authors
Authors must ensure that all submissions are original, accurate, and properly cited. Any form of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, and duplicate publication is strictly prohibited. Authors are required to present their research truthfully, provide sufficient methodological and analytical details for verification, and disclose any potential conflicts of interest. Authorship should reflect significant intellectual or practical contributions, and manuscripts must not be simultaneously submitted to or under review by other journals.
2. Responsibilities of Editors
Editors are responsible for evaluating manuscripts fairly and objectively, based solely on scholarly merit, originality, and relevance to the journal’s scope in economics, management, accounting, and business. Editors must maintain the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and share information only with those directly involved in the editorial and review process. Editorial decisions must be impartial, free from conflicts of interest, and guided by ethical standards, including respect for research integrity and responsible data handling.
3. Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers are expected to provide constructive, objective, and timely feedback to improve the quality of manuscripts under review. They must treat all manuscripts as confidential and report any potential ethical concerns, such as plagiarism, data duplication, or undisclosed conflicts of interest, to the editors. Reviewers who feel unqualified to assess a manuscript or cannot provide an unbiased evaluation must decline the review invitation.
4. Responsibilities of the Publisher
The publisher, in collaboration with the editorial board, ensures that all publication processes comply with ethical standards. This includes addressing ethical complaints, investigating allegations of academic misconduct, and implementing corrective measures such as issuing corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern in accordance with COPE guidelines. The publisher also supports the editorial team in promoting transparency, fairness, and accountability throughout the publication process.
