Abstract

Early marriage remains a multidimensional social issue that affects adolescents’ education, health, psychological readiness, social relations, and economic prospects. This community service program aimed to increase adolescent awareness through education on preventing early marriage in Sukamulya Village, Mekarjaya District, Pandeglang Regency. The activity used an educational-participatory approach through material presentations, interactive discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and descriptive evaluation of participant responses. The educational content covered the legal minimum age for marriage, contributing factors, health and psychological consequences, educational and economic risks, family roles, social norms, and future planning. The activity provided participants with structured information and a discussion space to understand marriage as a decision requiring multidimensional readiness. The findings also indicate that prevention efforts need support from families, communities, schools, health workers, and village government. Because no quantitative pre-test and post-test data were collected, the program’s effectiveness cannot be expressed as a percentage increase in knowledge. Sustainable education, family communication, social support, and measurable evaluation are therefore recommended to strengthen long-term prevention efforts. These measures can also strengthen adolescents’ educational aspirations, decision-making capacity, and access to alternatives before entering marriage.
