Indonesia’s digital economy has grown rapidly over the past decade, driven by internet penetration, financial system digitalization, and cross-border trade integration. This growth creates opportunities as well as risks that require a comprehensive regulatory framework. This article analyzes three main policy pillars: (1) regulation by the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Bank Indonesia, and the Ministry of Communication and Digital; (2) digital taxation policy and cross-border digital trade; and (3) personal data protection and cybersecurity. The analysis combines empirical data, national regulations, and academic literature. The findings show that the success of digital economy regulation is largely determined by the consistency of law enforcement, coordination among authorities, and the readiness of institutions and businesses to meet global standards.
