Artificial Intelligence (AI) Usage Policy

Essentia: Journal of Medical Practice and Research recognizes the growing application of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in medical research, clinical practice, healthcare innovation, and academic publishing. Authors are permitted to use AI-assisted tools only as supportive instruments to facilitate the research process and manuscript preparation while maintaining the highest standards of scientific integrity and ethical responsibility.

AI tools may be utilized for purposes such as language editing, grammar improvement, translation assistance, reference organization, data visualization, statistical analysis support, coding assistance, research workflow organization, and other technical aspects of manuscript development. However, all clinical interpretations, medical judgments, research analyses, conclusions, patient-related considerations, and ethical responsibilities remain fully under the responsibility of the authors.

Authors must transparently disclose the use of AI technologies within the methodology section, acknowledgments, or a dedicated AI disclosure statement in the manuscript. The disclosure should clearly identify the AI tool used, describe its specific purpose, and explain the extent of its contribution to the research or manuscript preparation process.

AI systems, generative AI tools, or automated technologies cannot be listed as authors or co-authors because they cannot assume accountability for scientific validity, clinical responsibility, research integrity, patient safety considerations, originality, or compliance with medical publication ethics.

The editorial team of Essentia: Journal of Medical Practice and Research reserves the right to reject manuscripts containing fabricated clinical information, manipulated medical images or data, inaccurate scientific claims, undisclosed AI-generated content, violations of patient confidentiality, plagiarism, or any practices that conflict with ethical standards in medical research and publication.

Authors remain fully responsible for ensuring that submitted manuscripts represent original scientific contributions, follow applicable research ethics principles, protect human participant rights and confidentiality, and accurately reflect the authors’ own scholarly work in medical practice and healthcare research.
