Screening for Plagiarism Policy
Custodia: Journal of Legal, Political, and Humanistic Inquiry is firmly committed to upholding academic integrity, originality, and ethical publishing practices in all submitted and published works. To maintain these standards, every manuscript undergoes a plagiarism screening process before entering the peer review stage. The journal utilizes reliable plagiarism detection software to identify potential overlaps, similarities, or unoriginal content.
Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data falsification, fabrication, or any form of academic misconduct will be immediately rejected. If minor similarity issues are detected, authors may be given an opportunity to revise and resubmit; however, serious violations will result in outright rejection.
The acceptable similarity index threshold is below 20%, excluding references, quotations, and commonly used academic expressions. Authors are fully responsible for ensuring that their submissions respect intellectual property rights and include proper citation of all sources.
By implementing this policy, Custodia seeks to maintain the highest ethical and scholarly standards, ensuring that all published works represent original, credible, and valuable contributions to the fields of law, political science, and the humanities, including topics such as governance, human rights, political theory, ethics, social justice, and cultural studies.
