Author Guidelines

General Provisions

Custodia: Journal of Legal, Political, and Humanistic Inquiry publishes original scholarly manuscripts in the broad fields of law, political science, and the humanities. The journal welcomes research on topics including constitutional and administrative law, human rights, criminal and civil law, governance, political theory, public policy, democracy, ethics, philosophy, social justice, and cultural or humanistic studies. Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by any other journal.


Submission Procedure

Manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the journal’s Online Journal System (OJS) platform.

Manuscript Format

  • Paper size: A4, single-column

  • Margins: 2.5 cm

  • Line spacing: 1.15

  • Length: Maximum 20 pages

  • Font: Times New Roman

    • 11 pt for main text

    • 10 pt for tables, figures, and references

    • 12–14 pt for headings

Title, Abstract, and Keywords

  • Title: Max. 12 words (English) / 14 words (Indonesian)

  • Author information: Names written without academic titles; include institutional affiliation and email address

  • Abstract: Written in both English and Indonesian, max. 200 words, summarizing background, objectives, methods, results, and conclusions

  • Keywords: Up to 5 keywords

Article Structure

  1. Introduction – Background, objectives, problem statement, and literature review (15–20%)

  2. Methodology – Research design, data sources, instruments, procedures, and analysis methods (10–15%)

  3. Results and Discussion – Findings, interpretation, and discussion in relation to previous studies or theories

  4. Conclusion – Summary of key findings, implications, and recommendations for future research or practice

References

  • Use APA Style for both in-text citations and reference list

  • At least 80% of references should be from the last 10 years, prioritizing peer-reviewed journals and academic sources

  • Use of reference management tools (e.g., Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote) is strongly recommended

Review Articles

Review articles should include:

  • Introduction

  • Theoretical/Conceptual Framework

  • Discussion

  • Conclusion
    All content must show clear relevance to scholarly development in law, political science, and the humanities.

Checklist Before Submission

  • The manuscript complies with all author guidelines

  • The work is original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere

  • References are complete and APA-formatted

  • All tables, figures, and illustrations are clear, numbered, and cited in the text

  • Necessary permissions have been obtained for third-party content (if applicable)

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
