Artificial Intelligence (AI) Usage Policy

Vivaterra: Journal of Nature, Plants, and Animals Studies recognizes the increasing role of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in supporting biodiversity research, ecological studies, environmental sciences, biological investigations, and academic publishing. Authors are permitted to use AI-assisted tools only as supportive instruments to facilitate research activities and manuscript preparation while maintaining scientific accuracy, research integrity, and ethical responsibility.

AI tools may be utilized for purposes such as language editing, grammar improvement, translation assistance, reference organization, data visualization, coding support, statistical analysis assistance, ecological data processing, image analysis support, species identification assistance, and manuscript organization. However, all scientific observations, biological interpretations, ecological assessments, research findings, conclusions, and ethical responsibilities remain fully under the responsibility of the authors.

Authors must transparently disclose the use of AI technologies within the methodology section, acknowledgments, or a dedicated AI disclosure statement in the manuscript. The disclosure should clearly identify the AI tool used and describe its specific purpose, scope, and contribution to the research process or manuscript development.

AI systems, generative AI tools, or automated technologies cannot be listed as authors or co-authors because they cannot assume responsibility for scientific validity, field observations, biodiversity data accuracy, research originality, environmental ethics, or compliance with publication standards.

The editorial team of Vivaterra: Journal of Nature, Plants, and Animals Studies reserves the right to reject manuscripts containing fabricated biological or ecological data, manipulated scientific images, inaccurate species information, undisclosed AI-generated content, unethical use of environmental resources, or any practices that violate research integrity and publication ethics.

Authors remain fully responsible for ensuring that submitted manuscripts present original scientific contributions, accurately represent natural and biological systems, comply with relevant environmental and research ethics principles, and reflect authentic scholarly work in the fields of nature, plants, animals, and ecological studies.
