Changes in Inventory Management Practices in MSMEs through Digital Transformation in the E-Commerce Era

Digital transformation has become the main driver of change in inventory management practices among MSMEs in Indonesia, especially as competition in the e-commerce era demands greater stock accuracy, service speed, and operational efficiency. This study uses a literature review method, examining various scientific sources, official reports, and empirical data on the digitization of inventory systems and technology adoption in the MSME sector. The results of the study show that the use of technologies such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), business intelligence, and cloud-based platforms can improve inventory recording accuracy, improve inventory turnover, and reduce the risk of overstocking and stockouts that previously often occurred in manual systems. Supporting data confirms that digitization has a significant impact on increasing turnover, supply chain stability, and the ability of MSMEs to respond to changes in market demand in a more predictive and measurable manner. The discussion also reveals that despite the significant benefits, MSMEs still face challenges in the form of limited digital literacy, capital constraints, and technology integration barriers that require intervention through training, mentoring, and public policy support.
