Publication Ethics
Sanitas: Journal of Health, Medical, and Psychological Studies is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and ethical responsibility in scholarly publishing. The journal adheres to the guidelines and best practices recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and expects all parties involved—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—to maintain these principles throughout the publication process.
1. Responsibilities of Authors
Authors must ensure that their submissions are original, accurate, and appropriately cited. Any form of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, and duplicate submission is strictly prohibited. Authors are required to report their research honestly, include sufficient methodological and analytical details to allow verification, and disclose any potential conflicts of interest. Authorship should reflect genuine intellectual or practical contributions, and manuscripts must not be simultaneously submitted to or published in other journals.
2. Responsibilities of Editors
Editors are responsible for assessing manuscripts based on their originality, scientific quality, and relevance to the fields of health, medicine, pharmacy, and psychology. Editors must preserve the confidentiality of all submissions and disclose information only to individuals directly involved in the review and publication process. Editorial decisions must be made impartially and guided by ethical principles, including respect for research participants, responsible data handling, and scientific integrity.
3. Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers are expected to provide constructive, objective, and timely evaluations to help authors improve the quality of their manuscripts. They must treat all manuscripts as confidential materials and identify potential ethical issues such as plagiarism, data duplication, or conflicts of interest, reporting them promptly to the editors. Reviewers who are unable to offer an impartial assessment should decline the review invitation.
4. Responsibilities of the Publisher
The publisher works in collaboration with the editorial board to ensure consistent adherence to ethical publishing standards. This includes addressing ethical concerns, investigating possible cases of academic misconduct, and taking appropriate corrective actions such as issuing corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern, in accordance with COPE guidelines.
